- There is an extreme need for trained workers in the electrical, carpenter, brick mason, and plumbing industries. Yet, local employers still struggle to fill jobs. Many individuals are not trained in fields of this nature and fear the risks associated with certain job positions. After gaining the correct amount of experience, the pay will be well above the median for most positions.
- The worker shortage is a simple concept of supply and demand. South Florida has been building and expanding, but there just isn't enough trained workers to meet the demand. The high level of complexity increases the skill set needed to perform jobs successfully. The shortage results in longer time periods for projects and higher labor costs. One issue is that people fear their job security in the construction industry. Also, the physical nature and stress that comes with the job often scares people away from the career field.

Prince,
ReplyDeleteI find your first opportunity to be one with a lot of potential. Certainly, what they did was very unethical. Although I'm not exactly sure what the best way to capitalize on this opportunity would be, doing more research could definitely spark some ideas.
Your fifth opportunity is somewhat similar to your first. Employers cheating workers out of their earned pay is almost looking as if it is a trend. Perhaps more research would reveal other local cases where this is also happening.
Prince,
ReplyDeleteLike Reece said, your first opportunity is unique because it deals with the unethical behaviors the company followed by cheating their workers out of their pay. This provides a huge opportunity for workers to set something in motion legal-wise to get their money back.
Your third opportunity is interesting as well because there is a decreasing amount of people entering a trade job since college education has become the norm for society.
Prince,
ReplyDeleteYou first opportunity is pretty interesting. I don't know if this kind of issue is common in the U.S., but it is very common in China. It would be awesome if you can come up with a solution to this kind issue.
The 4th one is a common issue in many places. I believe this opportunity have really huge potential.
